G.E.N.E. Takes Us On A Musical Journey In His New Album the "University Of Power"

On August 5, 2016 class will be in session as Christian Hip Hop artist G.E.N.E is set to release his new album entitled the "University Of Power". This album has been one in the works since the release of his last full-length cd ["Christ The King"], and over the past few years he has been hinting of a new album through his singles. Now the wait is over! Last week G.E.N.E. announced his new album "University Of Power"  will be released in the Fall just in time for the new school year to begin.

The "University Of Power" is an album about Faith; having faith in yourself and the talent(s) GOD has given you, and placing all our trust in Jesus Christ allowing Him to lead & direct our paths. 

"This album takes you [the listener] on a musical journey through college and my hope is that each song encourages you to keep your faith in GOD and in all the talents He has give you. Never give up on your dreams and goals no matter how big they are; and allow the Lord to direct your path. The closer we get and grow toward Jesus Christ, the more He will reveal in us and through us." 

G.E.N.E. says 

A message that's so prevalent and needed today. But why wait so long to release this album? G.E.N.E. shares:

"This album's title was given to me three years ago; shortly after the release of the "Christ The King" cd on a Saturday morning around 6am as I laid in the bed. But before I could share it with you I had to go through it. I have always had big dreams, things that seemed to be too far out of my reach. But what I had to learn is how to take those dreams and turn them into goals that I could go after and achieve. Dreams are great but if we are not careful they can turn into nightmares, leading to envy and self hatred. What I experienced is that I had all these ideas these dreams in my head that I wasn't doing anything with. I was sitting on them, never putting forth an effort to try and achieve them because I thought they were too big for me to try and do at that time. It would cost to much money or I didn't have all the connections I needed to get the vision accomplished. And what I failed to realize is that I had everything I needed around me except one thing... FAITH !  

My lack of Faith in GOD and the ability's He has given me kept me from moving forward toward those dreams and making them goals. But I kept dreaming, He kept giving me new ideas, new things until finally I stopped sitting and decided to move and act on Faith. Once I began moving things started coming together and that dream became a goal I could now see being accomplished. I realized I kept placing limits on GOD because of my current status, I figured I needed certain connections before an idea as big as mine could even be attempted let alone accomplished; but I am already connected to "The Power Source"  [GOD] and through Christ I can do all things if I have Faith and in line with His word. 

G.E.N.E. says

In the University Of Power, G.E.N.E. solicited a variety of featuring artists [Professors] as he calls it to address a range of topics in each song such as: maintaining faith and the lacking of faith, strength to preserve in uncertain situations, and also having too much faith in your own ability leading to self righteousness rather than being focused and trusting in Jesus Christ. This is certainly a memorable album with a "On Time" message for audiences both young and older alike.

G.E.N.E. launches production company "CTK & Affiliates"

   After seven years of preparation and planning; Melvin "G.E.N.E." Cotton III announces the official launch of his production company "CTK & Affiliates LLC". G.E.N.E. (aka God's Evangelist Neutralizing the Enemy) an Orlando based Christian hip-hop artist known for his musical talents has been using his gifts to edify the Kingdom of GOD since the age of fifteen as a freshman in high school. As a member and co-owner of Empowered Records he has traveled the southeast sharing the message and love of Jesus Christ through the art of music.

"I know GOD has placed more in me than just music, and He has required me to do more than just music. Every talent, every gift, every skill; I will use to Glorify and lift the name of Jesus Christ." G.E.N.E. says

   In 2008 during the summer of his junior year of college, GOD gave him a vision and idea of a production company that will allow him to utilize all of his talents and skills that complimented his music ministry. "2015 G.L.O.W Summit" in Palm Coast, FL; which was created, produced and will be hosted by G.E.N.E. This is a three day event packed youth conference with the purpose of drawing young people closer to GOD through a relationship with Jesus Christ; using education, entertainment and biblical principles to empower youth.

His words of advice are, "Allow no time to be time wasted. Every pitstop, every challenge you face are all opportunity's for you to learn, grow and prepare you for your purpose. Last Goodbyes

With only a few days left I have spent a lot of time backtracking and thinking of how I've waited, prayed and hoped that this day would come. An idea I have thought about everyday has now become an goal I have finally reached, and more importantly this is a gift that GOD chose to give me. Over the past eights months I have experienced many emotions: excitement, anxiousness, fear; but the one that trumps them all is Grateful. I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to join a exclusive club that not many people are afforded the chance to be apart of. One that in recent generations has been taken lightly by our society, yet it is the closest descriptions for human understanding that GOD chose to use to explain His Love for us. 

      The gift of Marriage; which is held at such a high standard in the eye sights of GOD that Jesus Christ chose to identify with this union to best paint a picture depicting His love for us. (Ephesians 5: 21-33)

So for me to be called to live out this level of service, entering into this Holy union, and to be Trusted by GOD with this wonderful gift of my (soon to be) wife; no words could ever express how thankful and grateful I am. I'm so fortunate to have her in my life, everything I ever wanted compiled over years of dating GOD gave me in her and she is more than I could ever ask for. The perfect woman for me and I the perfect man for her. I'm so looking forward to entering into the realm of the unknown with you, a place where you nor I have ever been, this lifelong journey called marriage; as we lean on The Lord to direct our path and write the chapters of our story called life together. 

Though our vows may say "Until death due us part"; I much rather say "Until...." I'm not placing any limits of an ending on our relationship; "For what GOD has joined together, let no man separate" (Mark 10:9) that includes both you and me. So I looking forward to our time here on earth together, but more importantly sharing eternity in Heaven with you as we Worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You are the "M" to my "M", the Mel to my Vin, you share apart of my name and I thank GOD that now I get to share the rest of my life with you. I Love You...
